Henry McCullough, who was a member of Paul McCartney and Wings on the “Red Rose Speedway” album, and also played with Spooky Tooth and the Grease Band, and backed Joe Cocker, Donovan, Leon Russell, Ronnie Laine and others, has died after a long illness, according to former Beatles associate and author Tony Bramwell, who announced his death on Facebook June 14. He was 72.

McCullough told Beatles Examiner in a 2011 interview for the release of his solo album “Unfinished Business” that it was during his term with the Grease Band that he first connected with Paul McCartney. “It was when the Grease Band was doing stuff.
