The Beatles announced April 3 that the three albums from the Beatles Anthology will stream starting at 12:01 a.m. local time Monday on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music and other streaming services worldwide.
Streaming Release Details
The three sets, “Anthology Volume 1,” “Anthology Volume 2” and “Anthology Volume 3,” each containing two CDs – debuted in 1995 and 1996 and included rare and unreleased Beatles recordings. They also included the first-ever releases of “Free As a Bird” and “Real Love.” The two songs were completed in 1995 by George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr from 1977 demos by John Lennon.
Beatles Anthology Stream Includes Many Outtakes
The three chronological collections from “The Beatles Anthology” include a wide range of studio outtakes, alternate versions and live recordings from throughout their career.
Among the music that could be heard on legitimate CDs by the general public for the first time were songs from their New Year’s Day 1962 Decca Records audition with then-drummer Pete Best.
