George Harrison’s 11th: “Brainwashed”

Musician and mystic, George Harrison

Spotlight: George Harrison (2002)

The “Quiet Beatle’s” final album, “Brainwashed,” was his 11th, written and recorded between 1988 and 2002. George was battling cancer and sharing ideas with son Dhani and long-time friend and producer, Jeff Lynne, about the songs sound and artwork.

Although George died before it was finished, his advance planning made it possible to complete the CD as he wished.

The song “Any Road” became a hit on Top 40, the album charted at #18 and went gold. The track “Marwa Blues” won a 2004 Grammy for the Best Pop Instrumental Performance and is one of our reader’s favorites.
